A few months ago Vanity Fair ran an article about Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton and the letters they'd exchanged over the years. It's a great article which I definitely recommend and have reread a few times if only for the letters themselves, some of which are published in the article. I categorize the following as the greatest love letter ever written and I'm not even like that. What a mighty good muse.

"December 27
Continued with the same gifted pen. It's no use pretending that you are an ordinary woman. Quite clearly, like this pen, you are not. I don't mean, for a second, that you are in any way comparable with a pen.
